Rayma Cathey

Rayma Cathey is a Commercial Insurance agent for IOA Insurance Services. She is responsible for sales, risk analysis, claims mitigation and advocacy, along with alternative risk financing through the use of captive insurance companies.

She has over 30 years of experience within the commercial insurance industry.  She began her insurance career working for Federated Mutual Insurance for many years.  She spent 2 years working for a petroleum-based insurance program called Energi Insurance Services; opening up the west coast to the program. In 2012, she went back to the broker side and has been operating as an independent agent for the past 14 years.
Rayma's goal has always been to significantly reduce her clients cost of insurance without compromising on coverage. She encourages her clients to mitigate risk by helping them formulate advanced risk management planning.  Although she has clients in all types of industries, she specializes in the petroleum and transportation industries.
Prior to her insurance career, her husband Bryan and she owned a precision sheet metal job shop with 30+ employees.  One of her duties was to oversee the insurance for their company.  She understands the effects that insurance costs can have on the bottom line.  Upon an increase, her thought always was, "how many more parts do we need to send out the back door to cover for this increase".  To this day, she still thinks like a business owner.
During her free time, she loves to hike, ride bikes and ride her motorcycle.  She loves to visit micro-breweries with her husband and share a good glass of wine with friends.  More than anything else though, she loves spending time with her family.  Her and her husband Bryan have 2 married sons; 2 amazing daughter-in-law's, 2 grandsons and 1 grand-daughter.
